Top Gear – On The Discovery Channel

Wednesday nights at 10:00pm the television show Top Gear aired for the past months on The Discovery Channel. Top Gear showcased some of the most exotic cars on the planet! But the show also delved into other interesting topics, such as
who could make it to the south of France first, a Aston Martin DB9, or a 200MPH train, or can a Mitsubishi Evo VIII compete with a Lamborghini Murcielago? (The Evo wins!)

However last night I was surprised to find Top Gear was not on and had been replaced with another, non-auto show. I decided to contact The Discover Channel.

I was happy to find a response in my inbox this evening. Did I say a response? I mean there were two responses! They don’t exactly say the same thing. You be the judge:

Email Response #1:

Email Response #2:
Thank you for contacting Discovery Channel. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns with us regarding “Top Gear.” Your comments will be forwarded to our program management and executives and will be taken into consideration.

The “Top Gear” show was not “taken off the air” but rather ran its pattern. It is being revamped for a U.S. audience and will return later this year. Look for it in December.

I don’t know about you, but I like the second response better than the first!

Here are my original comments:
I was extremely disappointed to see that Top Gear is not on the Discovery Channel tonight. I was even more alarmed that Top Gear does not appear on any future schedules. Has Top Gear been dropped from the Discovery Channel line up? I made it a point to watch this show EVERY Wednesday evening! I cannot say this of any other program on television. In fact I have hooked 5 guys from work on the new show! I hope that Top Gear will remain on the Discovery Channel channel line up. Thank You in advance for taking your loyal viewers opinions seriously. Sincerely,
Jerry and co-workers.
