Race Next Sunday
Well it’s time again!
I’ll be racing in my 3rd SCCA Autocross this weekend sponsored locally by NWOR. The event runs from about 11:00am until around 4:00pm, Sunday September 4th. As usual I cannot tell you exactly when I’ll be racing. I might be in the first group of cars, or I might be last.
The event schedule is as follows:
8:00 am – 10:45 am – Driver course walk
10:30 am – Driver meeting and schedule
11:00 am – First group of cars race
12:00 pm – End first heat
12:30 pm – Second group of cars race
1:30 pm – End second heat
2:00 pm – Third group of cars race
3:00 pm – End Third heat
3:30 pm – Forth group of cars race
4:30 pm – End Forth and final heat
This schedule is definately subject to change. In fact at my first event the first car didn’t start until about noon. They seem to adjust the number of runs each driver gets on the course based on weather and the number of drivers.
I’ll race in one heat and I’ll have to work in another heat. For example, if I work the first heat, I’ll race the third heat.
Passengers welcomed!
If you’re up to it I welcome you to grab a helmet and ride shotgun with me or my friend Jon and his corvette. If you want a real thrill I’d suggest riding in the vette!
What should you bring?
I’d suggest a comfortable lawn chair, sunglasses, sunscreen (hopefully you’ll need it), umbrella (hopefully you won’t need it), and something to drink. I’ll have a cooler with some cold beverages too. I will also have a blue canopy gazebo set up for you non-sun worshiper, such as myself.
Where is the event?
The event will be held at Toledo Express Airport. Download the map in PDF format.
Hope to see you there! Email me with any questions.
