!!! Breaking News !!!

The Earth Globe which is the center piece of the nightly fireworks show Illuminations: Reflections of Earth was damaged today when it struck the bridge behind China. The bridge was not extended completely which caused the impact resulting in obvious damage to the Earth Globe and minor damage to the bridge.

After the impact the Earth Globe was returned to the servicing area to inspect the damage. I will return to Epcot very shortly in order to see if the damage was repaired, as I suspect it will be, and to watch Illuminations one last time before my vacation is all done. (Hopefully)

I’m very pleased to report that Illuminations was performed tonight on schedule and without any noticeable changes to the program. Way to go imagineers!
