Florida Photos

Florida 2006 Photos have been added to the image gallery!

It has been nearly a month since the Space Shuttle launch of Discovery. Time sure does fly!

I find myself with a wholly different respect for our space program. The risks, the rewards, and the extraordinary people who design, build, and fly spaceships. It has taken on a new realism for me.

One image from this mission has really stuck with me. Nasa TV was broadcasting images from Discovery’s first space walk. They had switched to the camera mounted on the Piers Sellers head. It showed Piers removing and stowing the hatch. He turned back to the opening and peered out to a view of the space station. As the lighting began to balance out the view of the earth came into focus. I found myself pressing back in my chair feeling as though I was looking down 200 miles on the earth. Just imagine what that would be like to crawl out of the opening into space!

All the photos from my trip in March and April, and my other trip with Phideux in July have been added to the gallery. It took me a very long time to get everything posted mainly because I tried to organize the photos as much as possible. There are a TON of photos!

Here is a quick list of interesting albums:
