Know your camera
Take some time to become familiar with your camera. It sounds so simple, but it will make a big difference when your shooting. You don’t want to spend time on your vacation learning how to use your camera right?

Turn off Digital Zoom
This is a pointless feature of digital cameras and camcorders! Without getting technical, the image quality is awful with the digital zoom feature. Turn it off!

Know when to use manual settings
Generally the normal settings work just fine. However, what about fireworks or other low light situations? Cameras have a hard time focusing in these situations. Switch to manual focus, and in some cases you can set the exposure settings too.
