“It is all but official that the Red Wings will play the Chicago Blackhawks on New Years Day at historic Wrigley Field, home of the Cubs, in the second Winter Classic and just the third outdoor game in NHL history. NHL Players Association executive director Paul Kelly confirmed at a luncheon Monday that an announcement of the game between the Red Wings and Blackhawks will be made this week, according to the Toronto Globe and Mail.”
